The election is already happening. It’s 13 days  till November 6th, and in many states, people are already voting. As folks living with and affected with HIV, we are clear: the stakes are higher than ever. If we want to protect healthcare, reproductive rights, the environment and bodily autonomy for all people of all genders, it’s time to mobilize like we never have before.

PWN-USA members, supporters, and partners are ready to do the work and get out the vote! Can we count on you?

All we ask is that you call or text five or more friends and family members today to remind them to vote.

We know that the HIV community is going to show up for the issues that matter most to us, and getting out the vote is the first step!

Here’s what you can say when you call, with a bunch of resources and links to help you answer questions.

Hi, Can I speak with ____? It’s _____.

Hi, I know you have been hearing all about the upcoming elections. Our votes have never been so important. I’m just calling to make sure you have all the information you need to have your ballot counted.

If no: Ok. [Look at https://www.vote.org/voter-registration-deadlines/ to see if they can still register and share information about how to get registered]
If not sure: Let me help you look it up! [Go to https://www.vote.org/am-i-registered-to-vote/ and help them look it up while on the phone]

If yes
: Great! Have you voted yet?
    • If yes: Great! Will you text five friends today to remind them to do the same?
    • If no: Cool - when are you planning to vote? [Make sure they have a plan. Find out if they are early voting, voting in person, or voting by mail]. The deadline to vote is November 6th, but with all the reports of voter suppression and to avoid long lines, we are really encouraging folks to vote early. Do you think you can do that? [Here is early vote info for each state: https://www.vote.org/early-voting-calendar/]
Do you know where your polling place is? [You can help them look it up at: https://www.vote.org/polling-place-locator/

Here is what you need to know about identification laws in our state: https://www.vote.org/voter-id-laws/
If yes: Great! Uber and Lyft are both offering rides to the polls on Election Day. Download the Uber app and on Election Day they will offer you a free ride to your polling place.
