Positive Women’s Network-USA is excited to open applications for the Year 7 of the Policy Fellowship cohort!

PWN’s policy fellowship seeks to build the pipeline of well-informed and strategic policy advocates who come directly from the communities most impacted by the HIV epidemic in the United States – PWN members, especially BIPOC, transgender and gender diverse members – through training, coaching, and real world practice in policy advocacy.

Past fellows have led state-wide campaigns to modernize HIV criminalization laws, testified at Congressional briefings, organized advocacy days at their state capitol, created a rapid response team to mobilize the HIV community during the legislative session, and so much more. Every year, PWN Policy Fellows grow the number of women and TGNC people living with HIV who take the lead in local, state, and federal policy spaces. Is it your turn this year?

What is a PWN-USA Policy Fellowship?

PWN’s Policy Fellowship is a year–long program designed to support cis & trans women and trans and gender diverse people living with HIV to gain skills in policy advocacy. It doesn’t matter where you live! Women (cis or trans) and trans and gender diverse folks living with HIV from any state can apply!

Fellows will join virtual trainings coordinated by Positive Women’s Network, and regularly participate in group coaching and one-on-one mentoring sessions between May 2025 and June 2026.

As gratitude for their time and for successfully maintaining participation in the fellowship, PWN Policy Fellows receive a monthly stipend of $250.

We welcome all cis and trans women and trans and gender diverse people living with HIV. We also very strongly encourage women who historically haven’t had a seat at the policy table -- so if you are young, Black, Latina/e, an immigrant, queer, trans, working class or low-income, we strongly encourage you to apply!

Applications are open until March 10th, 2025.
