Message from a Co-Chair

nilda_rodriguez3 Nilda Rodriguez My name is Nilda Rodriguez and I was diagnosed HIV+ in 1988. I was clean and sober only 15 months and I was scared. I attended AA and NA meetings and have stayed clean and sober since that day. It took two years to tell my family. It was the right thing to do for me. I started volunteering in the HIV/AIDS Community right away. It has taught me so much. I have lost many, and feel a love and dedication to the community. I have been involved since 1988 and have not shied away. I’m involved in Policy, Violence, Housing, and other human rights issues around HIV/AIDS. I’m 63 years old and will be doing this work till I no longer can. I love the clients and the community I volunteer in. I sit on some HIV/AIDS groups that deal with things that are important to our lives and our well-being. I hope to be in this work till I’m 90!!!
