On July 9, Trump announced D.C. Circuit Appeals Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh as his pick to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy’s seat on the Supreme Court. Kavanagh, a far-right conservative has expressed opposition to Roe v. Wade, the decision that made abortion access a right, and recently supported blocking an immigrant minor in U.S. immigration custody from accessing abortion services.
He has also opposed the individual mandate of the Affordable Care Act, which requires everyone to have insurance or pay a fee, this mandate is an essential part of keeping insurance costs low for people with pre-existing conditions and chronic illnesses. Since Supreme Court justices serve lifetime terms, Kavanaugh’s confirmation would shift the balance of the Court to the right, jeopardizing hard won progress for reproductive, LGBTQ civil and workers rights for decades to come.
We must demand that our senators oppose Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination.

Sample Call Script:
I’m calling to urge Senator [insert Senator name] to vote NO on Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination.
Trump picked Kavanaugh to be the deciding vote to overturn Roe v. Wade and decimate the ACA. He is far right of the mainstream and we can’t depend on him to actually serve as a check on Trump.
