We are pleased to announce three special Institutes preceding
SPEAK UP! 2016. These are smaller, specialized sessions that
require separate registration (no additional registration fee is required).
PWN-USA Regional Chapter Leaders Institute
The Regional Organizing and Leadership Development (ROLD) workgroup will host a half-day Institute with 3 main goals:
1) Build community among PWN-USA Regional Core Officers
2) Strategic Issue Campaign Planning & Application
3) Review PWN-USA’s Strategies, Methods and Priorities.
The Institute will be held from 8 AM to 2 PM on Tues., Sept 27, 2016.
This Institute is by invitation only.
Women of Trans Experience Institute
Produced by
Positively Trans of Transgender Law Center, and in collaboration with Positive Women’s Network – USA, this Institute is designed to organize, mobilize and support leadership by trans advocates living with and affected by HIV. Content will focus on discussion of policy priorities for women of color who are trans and living with HIV, using data strategically to support campaigns, and skills building for leadership and advocacy.
This Institute will run from 9 AM to 3 PM on
Tuesday, September 27, prior to the opening of the SPEAK UP! Summit which starts the evening of
Tuesday, September 27. Space is limited.
If you are interested in participating, please contact Arianna Lint ([email protected]) or Octavia Lewis ([email protected]).
Young Women’s Institute
Young women living with HIV (YLWH) face unique challenges in navigating health care systems, relationships and disclosure, and stepping into and being supported in leadership positions. If you are a YWLH between the ages of 18 and 35, we invite you to participate in an interactive meeting of exclusively YWLH. Spend time networking, discussing and building skills to address the issues that matter to you. The Institute will be held
Tuesday, September 27, 9 AM to 2 PM, and like the other institutes is free with Summit registration.
For information or to register, please contact Arneta Rogers ([email protected]).
